State Council
A Representative body that generates CTA Policies
What is State Council? CTA has many employees that work to support us on a state level. State council is a representative assembly that votes and gives the marching orders for CTA. As bills come before our state legislature, court decisions effect education, or needs arise facing our students or us at our schools, State Council directs CTA in the actions it should take to address them.
State Council can institute change or action in several ways. Any member of council can propose a New Business Item that addresses the action/change. Each member of council is also on a committee. (I am on the School Safety/Management Committee.) These committees look at bills, court decisions, or New Business items proposed by members of council that deal with their over site. These committees then give a report to the entire State Council. They sometimes propose change of language of CTA policies. - Drew Warden
